Fan Profile I

Fan Profile I
This is the first of a regular feature that will get to the root of why we are Town fans. First up, Ian Pritchard aka Pilch from Blue and Amber.

How/why did you become a Town fan?

saw a few matches during 77/78 season then became a season ticket holder suring the 79 promotion season

What is your earliest Town memory?

a couple of matches in 78 which i cant really remember, the first game i do remember was a 5-3 win late on 77/78 ,a night game v port vale, sammy irvine got a hattrick, the only other time i saw him play he was in a side i played against about 10 years ago

What is your best memory?

aldershot away in 79 fa cup 5th round, went on a football train special and saw town score 2 very late equalisers in a 2-2 draw and earn a reply

Your worst?

90th minute v gillingham, the whole season over in a split second

Who was the best player ever to play in blue and amber and why?
steve ogrizovic, a role model if there ever was one, and a pleasure to watch him play

Who was the worst and why?
ian dunbavin, what a waste of talent and embarrassment to the game

Best manager and why?

Jimmy Quinn, still cant get over him putting on his boots and getting on the pitch to show the side how it should be done

Worst manager and why?

John Bond, excuse after a excuse

What is your funniest Town related memory?

Doug Rougvie chasing me into the stand after a game due to me calling him a donkey

How do you think we will fare this season?

without seeing any games yet i would have to say hopeful of at least a play off spot

What do you make of the new signings?

i'll judge them on how they do and not before

Who is the best player at the club?

hopefully is Bradshaw the new Rooney ;-)

Who is the worst player at the club?

without a doubt Nathan Elder

How would you describe the typical Town fan?

very patient

If there was one thing you could change about your club, what would it be?

a decent pa system together with a lively pa.

Thanks to Pilch.
