Mangan Signs One Year Deal

Mangan Signs One Year Deal

Shrewsbury Town have today signed striker Andy Mangan on a one year deal.

He joins us from Forest Green Rovers and knows manager Micky Mellon well as the two of them worked together at Fleetwood Town. The 27 year old has league experience with Blackpool, Accrington Stanley and Bury.

Speaking to the Official Site as the deal was announced, Mellon said.

'It's been ongoing and something I wanted to get done sometime ago. Thankfully we've finally managed to get it done and he's in the building and training. I believe he'll be a really important part of what we're trying to achieve here.'

Mangan himself said that he already feels right at home having now trained with his new colleagues, because everybody at the club has made him feel so welcome.

'It's amazing to be here because the club's fantastic. I'm over the moon and really excited to get going. It feels like I'm at home, especially with the gaffer being here. It's great for me, I play my best football under Micky, so I'm looking forward to it.'

Mangan goes on to say that he hopes his experience in League One, Two and the Conference will help the squad now as we look to bounce back following our relegation last season and he's already been impressed with the quality of player we have within our ranks.
