Weso Sees Clear Progress

Weso Sees Clear Progress

Summer signing James Wesolowski has said he's encouraged by the progress he can see the new look Shrewsbury Town making as the days tick by in pre season training.

The Australian midfielder, who joined us from Oldham as a key player and dropped a division in the process, has pleased with how we have been performing of late, especially in the Chesterfield and West Bromwich Albion friendlies, as he can see things we are working on in training coming through, and he remains confident we have a good season ahead of us.

Speaking to the Official Site he explained.

'I'm enjoying it. You expect it to be tough and it has been, but we've had some good games against good opposition and you can see everyone's starting to get to know each other on the pitch. Even after one match you could see everyone was starting to understand each other's games and I think that's the most important part of pre season, to understand what other people do on the pitch.'

Wesolowski goes on to say that he particularly enjoyed the test posed by Albion because they had nine odd internationals on display, so it was a very good test and it helped show the team what they are capable of achieving - even at these early days.

'There were good signs as we played some good stuff at times. The pitch was beautiful, as you would expect, and it was nice. It was different to Chesterfield and we had to keep our shape, do a lot more running, but that's perfect for us because it's going to get us fitter and it's going to get us used to playing against a better standard so that can only improve us.'
