Gayle - Now My Career Begins

Gayle - Now My Career Begins

New signing Cameron Gayle has said that he intends to make Shrewsbury his home now, and really kick start his career properly.

The 21 year old has just signed a two year deal with us after leaving West Bromwich Albion and manager Micky Mellon has already extolled his virtues, but the player is simply focused on getting as much pitch time as he now can to help us return to League One following our relegation last season.

Speaking to the Official Site after penning his deal, he explained.

'This time it's permanent and I'm just happy to be here. It's a great place to start playing and it's basically the start of my career now. Shrewsbury are a great club with great fans here and hopefully we can help one another progress.'

With 21 games to his name in our colours already, despite the summer changes he already knows a fair number of the players and the staff and he knows this will help him settle in and adjust properly and quickly to life at the club again and he also feels that Micky Mellon's style of football will help him fit right in on the pitch as well.

'I like the gaffer's way of playing, he likes to play football rather than play it long, and that suits my game. I like to get forward and I've enjoyed it so far. It's been hard but it's looking good.'
