Mellon On Track With Squad Building

Mellon On Track With Squad Building

A few hours before we confirmed the signing of Oldham's James Wesolowski, manager Micky Mellon spoke to the Official Site to explain how happy he was with the progress that the club were making on his identified targets.

Having added Wesolowski today, it follows on from the signings of Ashley Vincent, Nathaniel Knight-Percival, Mark Ellis, Mickey Demetriou and James Collins, who have all previously signed on this summer.

In his interview Mellon said more would follow, but importantly he was relishing and enjoying the challenge of putting what he believes will be a very competitive and exciting squad together for 2014-15.

'It's a good club, Shrewsbury, and I want to make sure we get players here who want to be part of this project who are as excited as what I am about working for this football club and working for the fans.'

Mellon goes on to say that with the stadium, the existing squad and the facilities that we have, the club is a really good place to be especially as we begin a serious rebuild for success.

'We're on track and I'm really happy where we're at. We're working very hard. Jacko's been in every day that I've been away, but I'm in constant contact with the chairman, Matt Williams, Danny Coyne, Skitty the physio, so I know everything that's going on.'
