Eaves - The Players Are Rooting For Jackson
On loan striker Tom Eaves has said that the players are rooting for Michael Jackson to get the full time job as manager of Shrewsbury, and he knows that ultimately it's down to them to give him that chance.
Speaking to the BBC, Eaves explained.
'We want to do it for him and hope he succeeds. All the lads are rooting for him. Graham Turner was a fantastic manager, he gave me my big opportunity which I first came here on loan last season. It was unfortunate that he stepped down but there's no doubt in my mind that Jacko's the man to do it.'
Performances have certainly picked up you could say since a new voice was introduced to the dressing room and the point against Brentford was huge for us, but otherwise we remain winless which hasn't helped with the postponement in terms of momentum and getting on the pitch quickly, but hopefully they will come.
There are no easy games in the league, but there are games we have to identify as solid wins, and good draws and do our best to reach those aims...anything over that is a bonus. Vale to a degree carries a double bonus if we can take all three points, but Notts Countyis almost must win in terms of lifting ourselves out of the bottom and then pulling them in.
Even if we can get four from the next available six...even only three would be a good way to go into the March schedule wit the games come quick and fast as ultimately March will likely decide our fate.
Eaves goes on to say that on a personal level, Jackson has spent plenty of time individually helping to coach him so he can improve and develop as a player, so for Eaves the efforts Jackson has put into his development, means he's determined to give his all to help Jacko's own career prospects now and he knows he's not alone in those thoughts as Jacko is a top man who is always willing to go the extra mile to help, so the least the players can do is return that favour.
