GT Reasonably Satisfied With Crewe Point

Manager Graham Turner has said that following the one all draw with Crewe Alexandra he remains reasonably satisfied with our efforts on the day.

Speaking to the Official Site following the match, Turner again had positives to take from the game, including the fact we came from behind to battle back for a point on the day, but he was disappointed that we didn't do better with some of the other chances we had on the day as he knows we could've ended up sneaking all three points had we been a bit more clinical.

'I felt we had some good chances in the second half when we got into some good positions. We should've done better with a couple of those, so there's mixed feelings but in the main we have to be relatively pleased to get a point away from home when we've come from a goal behind.'

The disappointment on the day for the gaffer was again that we started slow and he wants us to be quicker out of the blocks in matches, but we grew into it as the game went on so on that score he was pleased to see the players keep plugging away and improve as time went on, and it was on balance a good response to the Walsall disappointment for him.

He obviously also had plenty of praise for goal scorer Jon Taylor, describing it as a terrific finish, and given the runs that he is capable of making Turner is hoping we'll see more of it in the coming weeks and that players will find him more often as well as that is a big plus for us.

The one thing Turner does want to correct though is the apparent edginess in our play and our lack of confidence in front of goal, he's hoping a good few results over the festive period can get some good belief back so the lads free themselves up and try and make things happen more often.
