'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No Impact On Cup Game

Graham Turner has said that both he and Dougie Freedman are in agreement that our friendly will have little impact on the Cup encounter.

Speaking to the Official Site Turner explained that both teams would be shaking things up as it's about fitness in pre season and not a victory, and how each of them approach the Cup game will be entirely different.

'We had a chat about it. We had arranged this pre season games and, sod's law, we were then paired together in the cup. I was keen to still go ahead with it and they were equally keen.'

Turner talked about what he hoped to see in the friendly clash, saying improvement in overall team play and fitness were the two things he was looking for mainly.

'For all the running we do around the track, there's nothing like matches to get the players ready.'

Turner also confirmed that at least at the moment, a return of Tom Eaves looked unlikely but as ever, he'll keep his options over given the performances he put in for us last season.
