GT Hopeful Of Another Home Friendly

With the game against Galatasaray edging nearer, Graham Turner has admitted the club are hoping to secure another home friendly tie against overseas opposition.

With Shrewsbury's proximity to the FA's St George's Park where a number of overseas clubs are based or are headed for in their pre season plans could really work in our favour this summer.

Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer said.

'It could be the start of a period when we get teams like this because of the opening of the FA centre at St George's Park at Burton. Many of the foreign teams are coming over and basing themselves there and are looking for practice matches. We're still trying to fit one in for the last weekend of pre season.'

With no clues as to the identity of potential future opposition, GT does comment that French and German football is on a high at the moment and it's a great opportunity for us to take advantage of.
