Chris Porter has spoken of his delight at switching to Shrews for a loan spell, and his hopes of regular football after time on the sidelines.
The 29 year old, whilst speaking to the Official Site, said that his manager commented it might be a good idea for him to get out on loan to aide his fitness recovery after spending five and a half weeks out injured, and after being back in full training for the past fortnight, Porter believes he can get some good game time with us, and bang in the goals we need to build up that buffer between us and teams below us again.
'I definitely need the games and hopefully this is the right place for me to come and I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully I'll get some goals, that's my main job. Hopefully I can nod a few chances in and continue my goal to game ratio because I'm hoping to bang in goals for Shrewsbury.'
Porter adds that the loan is initially for a month and then depending on how it goes, it will be taken from there, and he's obviously spoken to Dave McAllister about how he has found life at the club and he's been pleased with what he heard.
He's now looking forward to getting to know and training with the lads with an eye on making his debut against Stevenage.
