Injury-time Penalty Wins It For Shrews

Preston 1-2 Shrewsbury
2nd February 2013
15:00
Deepdale

Preston's League One struggles at Deepdale continued as they slumped to another defeat when Shrewsbury overcame them on Saturday afternoon.

Having already missed one chance Stuart Beavon (43) opened the scoring from distance late in the first half to see Preston into the break a goal to the good.

Shortly after the hour Jon Taylor (64) drew Shrewsbury level with Preston denied the lead again by a goal line clearance.

A draw seemed likely until The Shrews were awarded an injury-time penalty, Matt Richards (90+1) held his nerve to secure the visitors a 2-1 win and extends The Lilywhites' winless home streak, which stretches back to September!
